I've been a Java (and ColdFusion!) enthusiast for quite some time now. I own (and believe it or not have read) several books on the subject. I've programmed several applets, stand-alone apps and servlets, all the time trying to find a real use for them. With the exception of the servlets, most of them have not had a very long life span or were more productively written in something else (like ColdFusion). My love for the elegance of the language has induced me to try to find more use for it in my work. Yet, after all that "playing around" with Java, it seemed that servlets were my best use of Java.
